You might remember my recent blog post about Iberica but I was lucky enough to be invited back for a special tasting night with head chef Cesar Garcia who talked us through the origins of the menu & his inspirations in cooking!
This is Cesar talking us through the deli area and bar area. Iberica have direct contact with their providers and ensure that only the finest meats and ingredients are used. A strong linkage with Spain ensures that they provide an authentic and high quality taste of the Med!
Not only does Iberica serve some seriously fantastic food, the drinks are amazing too! They serve a variety of cocktails & source speciality wines from the vineyards themselves to ensure that you have a quality drinking experience along with the delicious bar snacks.
If you’re just enjoying a drink, they will offer you complimentary bar snacks so that you enjoy your visit & have something tasty!
We tried a massive selection of the menu & I don’t want to give too much away so that you can experience the taste of Iberica for yourselves… So I’ll give a little sneak peak of some of my favourite dishes!
The warm pumpkin salad with goats cheese, lemon & thyme & an orange dressing was a delicious starting point for the food to come. It’s really easy for flavours to clash in salads but the balance of creamy cheese and roasted pumpkin made this a dish that I would be more than happy to order again.
I raved about the chorizo lollipops before & I’ll rave about them again. How can something so simple & tiny taste so amazing!?!? Because it’s battered & deep fried chorizo on a stick, that’s why. The lollipops & the pear alioli are a fantastic combination. The batter is light & doesn’t weigh down the rich chorizo. 10/10, I highly recommend these!
On my first visit to Iberica, the beef cheek carpaccio was sold out & I can definitely see why. It was served with truffle potato puree & sweet potato crisps. This was a delight to eat, the tartare sauce, thinly sliced beef cheek and sweet potato crisps provided a range of textures & flavours that made me appreciate the whole plate.
Similarly to the last dish, the oxtail sandwich with tartare sauce & potato cream was another dish I never managed to try on my first visit to Iberica. Having never tried oxtail before, I was very excited to taste this dish. I was expecting it to be quite tough & strong. However, the meat was perfectly tender & sweet, the acidity of the sauce played well in this pretty little sandwich dish!
Churros, you hear about them everywhere around Christmas time. Somehow, in my 24 years, I had never tried them. I have always thought they would be doughy & heavy like a big donut. No no no no! I was completely wrong, the churros at Iberica were super crispy, light & delicious. I was then informed that it isn’t often you get churros as good as this so I think I’ll pass the ones on the Christmas market & come back to Iberica whenever I have a hankering for churros!

Similarly to last time, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Iberica, the food is fantastic, the atmosphere is stylish & relaxed & the service is top quality. After two really good experiences, I have decided to book my friend’s Christmas night out here! (If I say I like somewhere in a blog post, I really mean it!). They offer their special Christmas menu for £40pp & offer a whole range of drink packages to accompany this. After looking through countless Christmas menus, as soon as I saw the menu for Iberica I was sold!
Not only is Iberica offering a tasty Christmas menu, they have arranged special Christmas hampers with the finest Spanish produce & they intend to give us Glasgwegians a taste of the Spanish culture & share tapas at Christmas! The hampers range from £25-£100 so there is an option for everyone!
Value for money: 8/10
Iberica kept up the amazing standard that I experienced on my first visit, I was impressed by the wide variety of flavours on the menu. It was really interesting to hear Cesar’s take on Spanish cuisine & I am super excited that I’ll be visiting again soon!
