YO! Sushi returns to Glasgow city centre with a brand new restaurant!

YO! Sushi is celebrating its 20th anniversary & is opening a brand new city centre flagship restaurant in Glasgow next Thursday (29th of June)! YO! Is arguably the most recognisable name in the UK when it comes to Japanese restaurants & the new restaurant has taken a prime spot in West George Street. They are taking up shop in this historical building with a cutting edge & stylish design plan. The brand new YO! restaurant is taking over the old pizza hut unit just off Buchanan Street so if you’ve been missing sushi at Frasers, you don’t have far to travel. Commenting on the opening of Glasgow Central, YO! CEO, Robin Rowland OBE said, “We are thrilled to confirm YO! is returning to Glasgow city centre.“

The classic YO! Dishes will be available such as the Katsu Curry, Ramen & Miso, Yakisoba, Chahan, Teriyaki, Gyoza & Tempura. Oh… & don’t forget the sushi! YO! Will be serving up fresh hand made Nigiri, Temaki, Sashimi, Rolls & fresh salads.

Glasgow is known as the ‘UK’s Most Vegan Friendly City’ and YO! are keeping the tradition by offering an impressive 16 vegan & 33 vegetarian dishes. They are also creating some special new dishes at YO! Glasgow Central so keep your eyes peeled. YO! is also won the Best Vegan Curry category for its Tofu Katsu Curry at the PETA Vegan Food Awards 2015.

YO! Boasts 78 restaurants in the UK & serves over 6 million customers a year & as an ode to Scotland, YO! is committed to working exclusively with Scottish suppliers to provide the best quality Scottish salmon to all of their UK restaurants. These specially selected suppliers are at the forefront of combating environmental issues and sustainability of at-risk species through over fishing and the subsequent depletion of certain fish. With high quality ingredients & an open kitchen, the chefs prepare all the dishes in situ & allow patrons to enjoy the carefully curated menu being cooked & prepared right before their eyes. YO!’s legendary Kaiten belt will surround the central theatre kitchen and curve around the whole restaurant, allowing each table to pick their dishes from the conveyor. The Japanese theme will run strong through this unit with an origami themed ceiling (I can’t wait to this in the flesh!).

I am so excited to see the new unit once it’s opened… Oh & to eat my body weight in sushi & katsu!

  1. Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
