If you like prosecco, goodies & treats, you’ll love Girls Day Out!

Last week I attended the bloggers event for Girls Day Out at the Merchant Bar to get a sneaky little look at what’s going to be happening at the SECC event in December.
We were able to preview the afternoon tea that will be available at the event (with prosecco of course!) The cakes were delicious! The mini strawberry tarts were my favourite & I could’ve easily eaten the whole tables worth it was that tasty!
The event consisted of guest speakers from some of the participating brands & companies that will be there to showcase their products for the big day! First speaker of the night was a representative from Fake Bake talked us through the new products at Fake Bake (who knew they did make-up!?) We were lucky enough to meet the founder Sandra McClumpha who let us in on tanning trends for 2017. FYI the 70’s is in so darker tans all around!
Some Fake Bake products in the goodie bag! The body scrub comes as a freebie if you pre-book your tickets online… It smells good enough to eat!
Our second speaker was the lovely Ashleigh Anderson of F.A.C.E. semi-permanent & cosmetic make-up studio who gave us an insight into micropigmentation & the process of getting some killer brows.
The main goal is to keep them looking natural, full & to frame the face so you look a million bucks without the brow pomade! Ashleigh will be at the Girls Day Out event so if you want to learn about semi-permanent make-up give this lady a shout!
We were super lucky to get a chance to speak to the gorgeous Lauren Howden & Danielle Roberts from Urban Decay. From beginning as a very bold & punky brand, Urban Decay now caters to all & I think every girl has a wish list as long as their arm for Urban Decay products they are desperate to buy! Danielle will be holding one on one make-up tutorials at the Girls Day Out event so if you want an in depth interactive make-up lesson, she is the gal you need to see!
So lets be serious here… Who doesn’t have a Naked palette? & who doesn’t need another Naked palette? Definitely not me! I got to play about with the new Naked Ultimate Basics palette & it’s 100% on my wishlist! Lauren had created her stunning warm smokey eye with this palette alone… Just look at how pretty it is…

Marlene Lamont & her team gave us an idea about forthcoming hair trends & we can rejoice! 80s is back! So we’re talking VOLUME, crimped hair, culture club, SHOULDER PADS! Well, Marlene didn’t say shoulder pads herself, but I’m taking what I want from this… I’m bringing back shoulder pads… Alright?
Hair jewellery & sparkle is also on the agenda! So I can predict there are going to be amazing sparkly New Year party looks that you can learn for the festive season!

Along with the Q&A sessions from all the lovely speakers, events manager Julia Girvan let us know what to expect from this years event. It’s set to be bigger & better with over 200 exhibitors covering not only hair & make-up but fashion, food, interiors & there’s free cocktails!
There are 3 bars & it looks like it’s gonna be an amazing day out! I am particularly excited for the Urban Decay stall & I’ve just been informed that there will be an appearance from Strathearn gin!
To top off the amazing night, we all received a fabulous goodie bag!
As goodie bags go, this is definitely a good un! Inside I discovered make-up samples, Fake Bake goodies, candles & a cupcake that isn’t pictured as it is long gone!

My lovely pink press pass for the event in December.

This is not a drill…. Gin & Tonic chocolate exists…

Candelle & Co mini candles. The black fig & coconut scent is incredible. The first thing I noticed about the goodie bag was how nice it smelled. These candles are super fragrant!
Thanks again to the Girls Day Out team for inviting me to be a part of this event! I am so excited to see how the main event compares to this lovely night!
Are you going to the Girls Day Out event? Let me knoooow!
