Tis the season to treat yo’self!

It’s winter, it’s cold, it sucks. You gain weight/lose memories from all the parties & the dinners that you have to attend. Instead of bombarding you with yet another gift guide, I intend to guide you to being selfish & looking out for numero uno! It’s the season for treating yo’self.
First things first, it’s the festive season, you should treat yourself to a nice bottle of something something! Is there a bottle that’s caught your eye this year? Well, this is the perfect time to treat yourself to something nice. My drink of choice is usually gin so there are countless gins that were on my radar but the new premium dry gin from McQueen Gin was at the top of the list! Distilled in Callandar, this gin was created by husband & wife, Dale & Vicky. They have a range of unusual flavours such as chocolate mint & smokey chilli (which are both amazing) but since I could only afford one bottle, I decided to go for the premium dry. You can always make gin cocktails & completely alter the flavour! You can buy the dry gin for £35 HERE.

Now you’ve decided on a tipple, lets start on the snacks! A cheese board is synonymous with the festive period. If you’re going to be pigging out on Christmas dinner, I’m sure you’re allowed to gorge on a whole cheeseboard by yourself… Well that’s if you’re not keen on sharing! Tesco sent me a coupon to try something festive & of course, I chose the cheese!  This finest cheese selection is only £6. Going all Wallace & Gromit but the Wensleydale with cranberry & blueberry was a winner for me!

The weather in Scotland this winter has been ridiculous this year, it’s been -4 & I’ve been scraping ice from my car then a couple of days later it’s been 10 degrees!!! The scarves & gloves have been coming in & out of the drawers on a daily basis. I can’t decide whether to wear a light jacket & a jumper or a big coat & a cosy scarf. Do you know what you should do? Ditch your plans if you’ve been out the night before, it’s too stressful to decide how to dress when the weather is varying so much daily. All you need is a fleece throw on the couch. Some comfy pyjamas as well! You can pick these up anywhere, my recommendation would be Poundstretcher or B&M, you can get the cosiest, comfiest throws for about £10.

Well… You can’t ditch all your plans & stay cosy on the couch, except if you’ve got a hangover, that’s totally acceptable. But for the nights out, a glowing tan is what you need to chase away to winter blues. White to Brown sent me a Dark Desire gift set to try out which arrived just in time for party season. I’m usually ghostly white so it’s sometimes hard to find a tan that looks dark but natural. Thankfully this done the trick! I absolutely loved the body wash they sent as well, I felt that buffing this into my skin in the shower helped the tan fade gradually & NO STREAKS!!!!
Being pampered is a big part of surviving the winter season & I was lucky enough to get to try a couple of treatments at the Sleeping Beauty Melrose Spa in Edinburgh. Check out my thoughts about it in my vlog! Spoiler, it was amazing! So much that I’ve treated myself to the offer below! If this isn’t a bargain then I don’t know what is. The deep tissue massage has undone the knots of some super stressful months & I can’t wait to visit again.

In all honesty, the winter months can  be super taxing on your wallet, your energy levels & your soul! So you shouldn’t feel bad at all for ditching the rush of the shops & spend some quality time at home with a nice glass of gin. Because if you can’t treat yourself, how in  the hell you gonna treat somebody else!?
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas & enjoy!
